Rio de Janeiro — uma imagem que atravessa fronteiras
Essa ilustração do Rio de Janeiro nasceu do meu olhar mais íntimo sobre a cidade onde nasci, com suas cores vibrantes, formas orgânicas e uma energia impossível de traduzir por completo.
Ao longo dos anos, essa imagem ganhou vida própria. Foi amplamente compartilhada, reinterpretada e, muitas vezes, apropriada sem autorização — um reflexo tanto da sua força visual quanto dos desafios constantes enfrentados por artistas no contexto digital.
Entre esses caminhos inesperados, um desdobramento especial surgiu: a marca canadense Simons convidou essa ilustração para fazer parte da sua linha Destination. O resultado foi um casaco bordado, onde o desenho se transforma em textura e matéria — carregando não só a paisagem, mas também o gesto manual e a essência do original.
A peça traz minha assinatura, reafirmando a autoria e o valor do trabalho artístico em um contexto onde, muitas vezes, isso se perde.
Esse projeto marca um contraste importante: entre a circulação livre (e nem sempre ética) das imagens e a potência de uma colaboração que respeita e celebra o artista.

Rio de Janeiro — an image that travels across borders
This illustration of Rio de Janeiro was born from my most personal perspective on the city where I was born — with its vibrant colors, organic shapes, and an energy that is impossible to fully translate.
Over the years, this image has taken on a life of its own. It has been widely shared, reinterpreted, and often appropriated without authorization — a reflection both of its visual strength and of the ongoing challenges artists face in the digital landscape.
Along these unexpected paths, a special development emerged: the Canadian brand Simons invited this illustration to be part of its Destination line. The result was an embroidered coat, where the drawing transforms into texture and material — carrying not only the landscape, but also the handmade gesture and the essence of the original work.
The piece features my signature, reaffirming authorship and the value of artistic work in a context where it is often lost.
This project highlights an important contrast: between the free (and not always ethical) circulation of images and the power of a collaboration that respects and celebrates the artist.
In the end, this illustration continues to do what it has always done — traveling the world, telling a story about Rio, about belonging, and about the strength of an image created with honesty.
